- Κατηγορία Α – Χαμηλού Κινδύνου. Σε αυτή ανήκουν :

i) Χώροι συνάθροισης κοινού με θεωρητικό πληθυσμό (όπως υπολογίζεται με βάση την ισχύουσα σε κάθε περίπτωση πυροσβεστική νομοθεσία) μικρότερο ή ίσο των 150 ατόμων που δεν χρησιμοποιούν για τις λειτουργικές τους ανάγκες υγραέριο (φιάλες ή δεξαμενές),
 
−
ii) Καταστήματα (λιανικής διάθεσης τροφίμων ή καταστήματα υπηρεσιών) με εμβαδό μικρότερο ή ίσο των 1.000 τετραγωνικών μέτρων.
 
−
iii) Γραφεία τελετών
 
−
Οι φορείς των δραστηριοτήτων που υπάγονται στην κατηγορία Α και που στεγάζονται σε υφιστάμενα κτίρια ( οικοδομική άδεια πριν 02/1989 ), απαλλάσσονται από την υποχρέωση σύνταξης μελέτης ενεργητικής πυροπροστασίας – σχεδίων κατόψεων και σύνταξης συνοπτικής μελέτης αποθήκευσης υγραερίου. Εξαίρεση γίνεται στις περιπτώσεις που είναι αδύνατη η συμμόρφωσή με τους όρους των διατάξεων και αιτούνται αποκλίσεις.

Σε νέα κτίρια (οικοδομικη αδεια μετά 02/1989) εξακολουθεί να ισχύει η υποχρέωση σύνταξης και υποβολής μελέτης παθητικής ή/και ενεργητικής πυροπροστασίας όπου απαιτείται, σύμφωνα με τα οριζόμενα του άρθρου 15 του Π.Δ. 71/1988 (ΦΕΚ 32Α) όπως ισχύει.
 
−
Οι φορείς των δραστηριοτήτων που υπάγονται στην κατηγορία Α απαλλάσσονται από την υποχρέωση εφοδιασμού με πιστοποιητικό (ενεργητικής) πυροπροστασίας, αλλά οφείλουν να τηρούν και να συντηρούν τα μέτρα και μέσα πυροπροστασίας που απαιτούνται από την κείμενη νομοθεσία, τα οποία θα αποτυπώνονται σε σχέδια κάτοψης που υπάρχουν στον φάκελο που θα τηρείται στην επιχείρηση.
 
−
- Κατηγορία Β – Μεσαίου Κίνδυνου. Σε αυτή ανήκουν :
 
−
i) Χώροι συνάθροισης κοινού με θεωρητικό πληθυσμό (όπως υπολογίζεται με βάση την ισχύουσα σε κάθε περίπτωση πυροσβεστική νομοθεσία) μεγαλύτερο των 150 ατόμων καθώς και χώροι συνάθροισης κοινού ανεξαρτήτως δυναμικότητας που χρησιμοποιούν για τις λειτουργικές τους ανάγκες υγραέριο (φιάλες ή δεξαμενές) και
 
−
ii) Καταστήματα (λιανικής διάθεσης τροφιμων ή καταστήματα υπηρεσιών) πάνω από 1.000 τετραγωνικά μέτρα καθώς και κατα-στήματα ανεξαρτήτως τετραγωνικών μέτρων με αποθήκευση φιαλών υγραερίου άνω των 200kg.
 
−
Στην κατηγορία Β, οι φορείς των δραστηριοτήτων, οφείλουν εντός πενήντα (50) ημερών από την ημερομηνία υποβολής της γνωστο-ποίησης, να προβούν σε όλες τις απαιτούμενες ενέργειες προκειμένου να εφοδιασθούν από την οικεία Πυροσβεστική Υπηρεσία με πιστοποιητικό (ενεργητικής) πυροπροστασίας, το οποίο θα τηρείται στο φάκελο της επιχείρησης.
 
−
- Κατηγορία Γ – Υψηλού Κινδύνου. Σε αυτή ανήκουν : Τα θέατρα και οι κινηματογράφοι. Στην κατηγορία Γ οι φορείς των δραστηριοτήτων οφείλουν πριν την ημερομηνία υποβολής της γνωστοποίησης να προβούν σε όλες τις απαιτούμενες ενέργειες προκειμένου να έχουν εφοδιασθεί από την οικεία Πυροσβεστική Υπηρεσία με πιστοποιητικό (ενεργητικής) πυροπροστασίας το οποίο θα τηρείται στο φάκελο της εγκατάστασης.

Operators of activities belonging to category A and housed in existing buildings (building permit before 02/1989), are exempted from the obligation to prepare an active fire protection study - floor plans and a summary study of LPG storage. Exceptions are made in cases where it is impossible to comply with the terms of the provisions and deviations are requested.

In new buildings (building permit after 02/1989) the obligation to prepare and submit a passive and/or active fire protection study where required is still in force, in accordance with the provisions of article 15 of the PD 71/1988 (GG 32A) as in force.
 +
Category A operators are exempted from the obligation to obtain an (active) fire protection certificate, but must comply with and maintain the fire protection measures and means required by current legislation, which will be reflected in floor plans that are part of the file to be kept in the holding.

*Category B - Medium Risk

This includes:

**i) public gathering places with a theoretical population (as calculated on the basis of the applicable fire-fighting legislation) of more than 150 persons as well as public gathering places regardless of capacity that use LPG (bottles or tanks) for their operational needs and

In category B, the operators must, within fifty (50) days from the date of submission of the notification, take all the necessary actions in order to be provided by the relevant Fire Service with an (active) fire protection certificate, which will be kept in the business file.

              This includes:

                • ii) shops (food retail or service shops) with an area of less than or equal to 1,000 square meters.

              Operators of activities belonging to category A and housed in existing buildings (building permit before 02/1989), are exempted from the obligation to prepare an active fire protection study - floor plans and a summary study of LPG storage. Exceptions are made in cases where it is impossible to comply with the terms of the provisions and deviations are requested. In new buildings (building permit after 02/1989) the obligation to prepare and submit a passive and/or active fire protection study where required is still in force, in accordance with the provisions of article 15 of the PD 71/1988 (GG 32A) as in force. Category A operators are exempted from the obligation to obtain an (active) fire protection certificate, but must comply with and maintain the fire protection measures and means required by current legislation, which will be reflected in floor plans that are part of the file to be kept in the holding.
              • Category B - Medium Risk
              This includes:
                • i) public gathering places with a theoretical population (as calculated on the basis of the applicable fire-fighting legislation) of more than 150 persons as well as public gathering places regardless of capacity that use LPG (bottles or tanks) for their operational needs and
                • ii) stores (food retailers or service stores) of over 1.000 square meters as well as stores, independently of their area, that store LPG cylinders over 200 kg.
              In category B, the operators must, within fifty (50) days from the date of submission of the notification, take all the necessary actions in order to be provided by the relevant Fire Service with an (active) fire protection certificate, which will be kept in the business file.
              • Category C - High Risk
              This includes: Theatres and cinemas. In category C, the operators must, before the date of submission of the notification, take all the necessary actions in order to have been provided by the relevant Fire Service with a certificate of (active) fire protection which will be kept in the installation file.
