A copy of a university degree from Greece or abroad recognised as equivalent by the Interdisciplinary Organisation for the Recognition of Academic Qualifications and Information (DOATAP) or a decision of the Council for the Recognition of Professional Qualifications (SAEP) or the Council for the Recognition of Professional Equivalence of Higher Education Qualifications (SEAITTE) and certified as authentic by a public authority. In order to teach foreign languages, where the applicant’s qualifications do not match those of public-school educators, a certificate of competence in foreign language teaching is required.

3. A solemn declaration under Law 1599/1986, with authenticated signature, in which the interested party declares that: he or she is not a civil servant or an employee of a public entity or local authority, or, if he or she is one of the above, he or she must submit a licence to teach at a tutoring centre or language school or for home tutoring issued by the competent body in accordance with Article 31(1)(2) of Law 3528/2007 and Article 38(2) of Law 3584/2007;
he or she has not been convicted or indicted with a final bill of indictment under Articles 8 and 9 of the Civil Service Code (Law 3528/2007, Series I, No 26)) as amended and in force;
he or she has not been dismissed from a position as a civil servant or private educator or teacher at a tutoring centre or language school for disciplinary reasons or for incompetence in the performance of his or her duties.

4. Extract from the applicant’s criminal record for judicial use (ex officio search). In the absence thereof, for residents of other EU Member States, an equivalent document issued by a competent judicial or administrative authority in their country of origin or provenance is required to show that the requirements are met. If the country of origin or provenance does not issue such a document, this may be replaced by a sworn statement or, in the case of countries where there is no sworn statement, by a solemn declaration made by the person concerned before the competent judicial or administrative authority or, where appropriate, before a notary of their country of origin or provenance, who shall issue a certificate attesting the provision of a sworn statement or official declaration.

Registration and receipt of application
Description
The application is registered automatically and exclusively through the platform. In particular, after the successful final submission of the electronic application, the application assigns a Unique Submission Number (MAY) and sends an automated information message to the email address declared by the applicant. The teacher is informed about the status of his/her application on the submission website https://teachinglicense.it.minedu.gov.gr/ by following the instructions in the user manual on the platform's home page. The application is accessible to authorised employees of the Directorates of Secondary Education through the website https://teachinglicense.it.minedu.gov.gr/Central/ .
Notes
The interested teacher submits, exclusively electronically through the website https://teachinglicense.it.minedu.gov.gr/, to the competent Directorate of Secondary Education (based on his/her place of residence), an application announcing the commencement of practising the profession of teaching in tuition centres and foreign language centres and of home tutoring, by uploading to the platform all necessary supporting documents, as applicable. It is noted that the interested party may submit an announcement application either for the licence type "tuition centre and home tutoring" or for the licence type "foreign language centre and home tutoring".

Description
If, during the check of the supporting documents and the ex officio search of the applicant's criminal record, it is found that the uploaded supporting documents are not complete and correct (as applicable), or that the applicant has been convicted of specific offences that do not permit the exercise of teaching work, or that in general a decision announcing the commencement of practising the profession of teaching cannot be issued for any reason, in accordance with the legislation in force, then the electronic application is rejected and an automated information message is sent to the applicant's email through the platform. Communication then follows between the teacher and the competent Directorate of Secondary Education, in order to be informed of the reasons for rejection of his/her application so that, if the conditions are met, he/she may submit a new application.

Approval of application, issuance of decision and notification of applicant
Description
If, after checking the supporting documents and the ex officio search of the applicant's criminal record, it is found that all conditions are met, as applicable and in accordance with the legislation in force, so that a decision announcing the commencement of practising the profession of teaching in tuition centres and home tutoring or in foreign language centres and home tutoring can be issued, then the electronic application is approved. The decision is then posted on the platform as a digitally signed PDF file by the Director of the competent Directorate of Secondary Education and is entered in the "Register of Teachers in Tuition Centres, Foreign Language Centres and Home Tutoring".
Notes
The teacher receives at his/her email, through the platform, an automated approval information message with the decision attached. In addition, on the application submission website https://teachinglicense.it.minedu.gov.gr/, the application status appears as "Approved" and the interested party, by following the instructions in the user manual on the application's home page, may print the application, the decision and the proof of issuance of the decision containing the unique verification code (QR code certificate).
