Urban planning
The premises must be lawful in terms of their construction and use as a beauty parlour, and meet all the legal requirements for a main-use area in order to operate as a beauty parlour, in accordance with the current Building and Construction Regulation, the Fire Protection Regulation, the general and specific urban planning provisions in force from time to time, as well as the building specifications set out in the legislation specific for the activity in question.

The beauty parlour premises must include the following:
• waiting room,
• parlour,
• implement cleaning and sterilisation area,
• changing rooms with lockers,
• bathroom with a bathtub or shower and toilet.
The above spaces may also form part of a dwelling, provided the parlour premises are not used to serve the needs of the dwelling and are isolated from any dwelling, even via a locking door.

The competent department of the Regional Unit concerned shall forward the notification within five working days to the competent Building Service, the competent Fire Department, the Directorate for Primary Health Care of the Ministry of Health and any other service which, in its view, should be made aware of the operation of the activity in order to carry out the statutory checks.
