6 Prior Service They must have experience as trainee divers in commercial diving, in Greece or abroad, of one (1) year for holders of scuba diving certification from the Kalymnos Diving Center, or two (2) years for holders of scuba diver certification issued in accordance with the General Ports Regulation No 5 (Government Gazette, Series II, No 858/1994) or Law 3409/2005 (Government Gazette, Series I, No 273), or holders of a scuba diver certificate issued by the School of Underwater Demolition (SYK) branch of the Level 2 Lifelong Learning Center (KDBM-2) of the PALASKAS Training Centre (KE).

7 Conditions for non-commission of criminal offenses They must not be fugitives from justice or have been finally or irrevocably convicted of theft of antiquities; robbery; intentional homicide; smuggling, possession, use of or trafficking in drugs; exploitation of prostitutes or human trafficking; statutory rape; rape; sexual assault; theft; forgery; fraud; embezzlement; illegal fishing using explosive, chemical or plant materials; intentional shipwrecking; under the law on intermediaries. Description Once the person concerned has been granted the certificate of submission of the application, he/she must then be deemed qualified following an oral and practical examination by a three-member committee appointed by decision of the Head of the Port Authority.

Notes Those who hold a certificate in Underwater Demolition or from a Hellenic Navy Diving School and have served in the Underwater Missions Unit of the Hellenic Coast Guard, as a combat diver specialist, are exempt from the examinations.
