construction worker, quarryman, lime kiln worker, brickmaker, potter, forestry worker, resin collector, tobacco worker, musician who is a member of the relevant professional union, shoemaker, employee of the shipbuilding and repair sector, operator of excavating, lifting, road-building and drilling machinery, actor, cinema and television technician, cinema operator and assistant operator, cinema and theatre inspector, cinema and theatre cashier, employee of the tourism and catering sector, or emery miner.

Employees of the shipbuilding and repair zone are also beneficiaries, provided they are covered by compulsory insurance with e-EFKA, when they provide their work in companies established in Greece and active in one or more EU Member States (Article 14(1) of Law 3762/2009, Government Gazette, Series I, No 75 of 15.05.2009).

Pensioners as of 10 September, who in the previous year practised one of the above professions and meet the conditions for receiving the allowance, are entitled to the seasonal allowance provided that the pension they receive (main and supplementary) is lower than the minimum pension granted by e-EFKA to its insured persons in the year of payment of the allowance.

Employees in tourism and catering professions must have completed at least seventy-five (75) days of paid employment in the calendar year preceding the year of payment of the allowance, and no more than fifty (50) days of paid employment in the period from 1 October to 31 December of the preceding calendar year.

For construction workers, employment must be exclusively in the sector, and in the calendar year preceding the year of payment of the allowance they must have worked exclusively in construction for between ninety-five (95) and (210) days. The above days include the 20% increase and the corresponding days of leave. Essentially, this means that insured persons who work between seventy-three (73) and one hundred and sixty-three (163) actual working days are entitled to the benefit. In addition, applicants must not be contractors or subcontractors of construction work employing more than three (3) employees.

Beneficiaries who participate in vocational training programmes of DYPA (formerly OAED) and receive a training allowance are deprived of the special seasonal allowance in the year in which most of their training takes place (article 37(5A) of Law 1836/1989).

Labour
Those who meet the requirements for a regular benefit at the time of payment of the allowance are not eligible for the allowance. If the regular unemployment benefit falls within the period of payment of the allowance (10 September to 30 November), the seasonal allowance is offset against the corresponding amount of regular unemployment benefit.
