According to the procedure for submitting a declaration of commencement of energy audit activities, both the submission of an application and the relevant supporting documents, as well as their review, are processed electronically by the Departments of Energy Inspection of the Northern Greece Inspection Body and Southern Greece Inspection Body. ‘Energy auditor’ is the natural person who performs energy audits and is registered in the Register of Energy Auditors.

4 Professional Energy audits are of independent nature and are performed by one or more qualified energy auditors belonging to one of the following categories:

• a) graduates in the field of engineering, members of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), in accordance with the conditions laid down in Presidential Decree No 99/2018 (Series I, No 187);
• b) graduates in the field of engineering with a technological education specialising in electrical engineering, building renovation and restoration, automation, industrial informatics, industrial design, energy technology, oil and gas technology, mechanical engineering, civil engineering;
• c) engineers of the above specialisations who have obtained recognition of professional qualifications in Greece pursuant to the relevant EU and national legislation;
• d) energy auditors of buildings and heating and air conditioning systems registered in the relevant registers.

Energy auditors certified in European Union (EU) countries or holding certification as specified in the decision referred to in Article 17(1), shall be entered in the Register referred to in paragraph 5, in accordance with its provisions.

1 Receipt of the application for declaration of registration in the Register of Energy Auditors for Classes A, B or C

Description The interested party shall submit via the gov.gr gateway or directly via the website of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy (https://www.buildingcert.gr/enaudits/) an electronic application for obtaining access codes to the Register of Energy Auditors by completing the necessary personal information. The information system automatically sends the temporary access details (username and password) by email. The interested party logs into the information system using their codes and submits a declaration of commencement of energy audit activities, attaching the necessary supporting documents (in pdf format) and submits their final declaration.

Notes Candidates with access codes to the Register of Energy Auditors shall use the same codes to activate access codes to the Register of Energy Auditors.

4 Rejection of the declaration

Description If it is apparent from the information submitted that the conditions for entry in the Register of Energy Auditors have not been met, the Departments of Energy Inspection of the Northern Greece Inspection Body and Southern Greece Inspection Body of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy shall inform the interested party accordingly in writing, within three months of the date of the declaration, stating the reasons why the interested party cannot perform the activity of an energy auditor; otherwise, after three (3) months, the interested party shall be able to perform the activity of an energy auditor, without the need for any further notice or action.

Notes Following the rejection, the interested party may resubmit their declaration.
