2. Any existing driving licence issued by the UK which is marked "Provisional Driving Licence" is not exchangeable for a Greek driving licence.
3. A category contained in a UK driving licence form with a date in point 4a of the form later than 02.02.2021 is not exchangeable, provided that on the date of point 4a, the person concerned had his/her usual residence in Greece.
4. No incorporation in a Greek license, P.E.I./Driver Training Certificate issued by the UK on a date later than 02.02.2021, if at the date of issue the person concerned had his/her usual residence in Greece.
5. In the case of an interested party who holds a Greek driving licence and applies for the exchange of categories issued by the UK, other than those of the Greek licence, it is permissible to incorporate the other categories in the Greek licence, provided that the relevant conditions are met.
6. In the event that the loss or theft of the driving licence to be exchanged (and/or the drivers licence (and/or the Drivers Education and Training Certificate to be incorporated) has been reported, the Transport and Communications Service shall inform the competent issuing authority.
7. The Transport and Communications Service, if it receives a Greek driving licence which has been exchanged with a driving licence issued by the UK, shall notify the issuing authority of any existing irregularities relating to the validity and the data it contains.
8. The Transport and Communications Service: - After the submission of the above documents, it carries out a check on the authenticity of the driving licence (and any P.E.I./Driver Training Certificate to be incorporated), in the course of which it requests by e-mail from the Issuing Authority an official notification, which is required to include all the necessary data of the licence (and any P.E.I./Driver Training Certificate to be incorporated). I.E./Driver Training Certificate) and of the holder and confirm that the licence (and any I.E./Driver Training Certificate to be incorporated) is not being held by any authority in the issuing country on the grounds of any penalty. This information is received by the Transport and Communications Agency directly from the competent licensing authority. If deemed necessary, the Transport and Communications Service may request the interested party to provide an official translation of the above information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or from a lawyer into Greek, at the request of the interested party.
9. The mandatory fees are fees 1,2,3, (60€, 30€ and 18€). The additional fees 4 and 5 are for category extensions and are issued for each additional category that the interested party wishes to convert.Last update

Notes: Candidate drivers and drivers, in order to proceed with any procedure concerning their driving licence for which a medical examination is required, must be examined by a doctor of the following specialities: a) Pathologist and the related specialities of general practitioner, haematologist, gastroenterologist, endocrinologist, rheumatologist, cardiologist, pulmonologist, nephrologist and a non-specialist doctor who has been licensed for at least five (5) years. As part of the examination and history taking, the examinee, in the case of a suspected disease of the arthymia, hearing, nervous system, or any other disease for which a specialists opinion is required, shall be referred to a doctor of the corresponding specialty. b) Ophthalmologist, c) Otolaryngologist (compulsory for those over 80 years of age), d) Neurologist or Psychiatrist (compulsory for those over 80 years of age). The aforementioned doctors shall give an opinion on the state of health of the person concerned and issue medical health certificates which must include the obligatory classification of the person concerned as COMPETENT or NOT COMPETENT. Annex III of P.D. 51/2012 (A101). The medical examination of candidate drivers and drivers is carried out by any private doctor of the specialties listed in Annex III of P.D. 51/2012 (A 101) who maintains a legal medical practice in the country or by any doctor of the same specialties who is a member of a medical company of any legal form having its headquarters in the country. The aforementioned health certificates shall be accepted by the competent authority if they are submitted within six months of their issue.

Notes: Such as: - the Residence Permit. - the Certificate of Registration of a citizen of an EU Member State. - the Certificate of Permanent Residence of a citizen of an EU Member State. - the Residence Permit, which (according to what is written on its form) takes the place of a residence permit. - the Certificate of submission of supporting documents for the granting or renewal of a Type A Residence Permit. - the Special Identity Card of the Permanent Resident. The above document must have been issued at least one hundred and eighty-five (185) days before the day of submission of the application to the Transport and Communications Service. It is acceptable to submit, with the application, the above document before the expiry of the period of 185 days from its issuance. In this case, in order to fulfil the requirement of certification of the habitual residence of the person concerned in Greece, in addition to this document, at least two (2) additional proofs relating to the relevant critical period of time shall be submitted. Indicatively, two (2) of the following may be submitted: proof of taxation in Greece, proof of ownership or lease of a house, a document certifying the social security of the person concerned, proof of receipt of education for the children, energy or telephone or water bills, etc.

Receipt of Greek Driving Licence and Delivery of Foreign Driving Licence

Description The person concerned receives the driving licence in person from the Transport and Communications Service. The driving licence shall be delivered, with signature, to its holder, who must be in possession of his/her identity card or valid passport, and to a person provided with any legal document such as a power of attorney duly authenticated for signature or a power of attorney.
Notes Upon receipt of the Greek driving licence, the person concerned is obliged to hand over the UK driving licence and any issued by the UK Driving Licence/Drivers Training Certificate, which are returned to the issuing authority through the diplomatic or consular mission of the issuing country in Greece.
