Description
One of the two interested parents/guardians having custody of the students enters the Information System for Admission Applications (PSAE) to Standard Schools, Public Onassis Schools, Standard Ecclesiastical Schools and Experimental Schools.
Brief instructions follow before submission of the application and then the applicant proceeds to Submit the application at the active point.
Notes
The deadline for submitting applications is set within the first ten days of March of the current school year and may not be less than ten (10) days.
With the same application, admission may be requested for students to two (2) Standard Gymnasiums or two (2) Standard Lyceums, as well as to one (1) Ecclesiastical Gymnasium or General Ecclesiastical Lyceum, declaring the order of preference respectively.

Description
Parents/guardians request the participation of students in the written skills procedure for admission to the entry grade of 1st grade of Gymnasium and 1st grade of Lyceum of two (2) Standard Schools.
Through this procedure, students are assessed on skills acquired during their attendance at Primary School or Gymnasium respectively, relating to comprehension of Greek-language texts and mathematical concepts.
Notes
After final submission of the application, the Unique Submission Number (MAY) and the unique six-digit code corresponding to each student are assigned. These are necessary for applicants to monitor the procedure and participate in the examinations. Applicants are also entitled to print the certificate of submission of the application, which bears: (a) the applicant’s details, (b) the declared details of the student, (c) the declared contact details, (d) the schools of preference and order of preference, (e) the school for which the candidate wishes to be on the reserve list, and (f) the Unique Submission Number (MAY) of the application and the unique six-digit student code, in order to present it at the relevant examination centre on the day of the examination.

Assignment of Standard School Priority Number by public draw

Description
The public electronic draw is conducted by the Draw Committee for Experimental Schools. Through appropriate software (electronic draw system), one (1) random unique Priority Number is drawn and assigned to each candidate for the Standard Schools in order to resolve any ties that may arise.
Notes
The Directors of the relevant Standard or Ecclesiastical Schools gain access to the platform and export the file containing all candidates who have declared the specific school unit, in ascending order of the Standard School Priority Number (APPS), without taking into account the order of preference. The above list, under the responsibility of the relevant EPES or the Director of the Ecclesiastical School, is posted on the school’s website so that parents or guardians or another person having custody of the students or lawfully authorised may be informed of the candidate’s APPS.

Description
1) Candidates must present, on the date of the skills test, an identity card or passport or identity certification in the event that no identity card has been issued, and the printed certificate of submission of their application.
2) The Central Committee for the Organisation of Examinations and Draw (KEOEK) sends the topics electronically to the schools/examination centres immediately before the start of the test.
3) Students are examined in the cognitive subjects of comprehension of Greek-language texts and Mathematics.
Notes
The selected answer for each question is marked on a special answer sheet, which is sent, under the responsibility of KEOEK, to the schools/examination centres. On the answer sheet, under the responsibility of the candidate student and under the supervision of the invigilator, the candidate application code must be entered in the corresponding fields.

In this case, the other school unit to which the student has been admitted is informed and the student is removed from the list of successful candidates of that school unit.

Description
Applications for participation in the selection procedure for filling vacant student places in Standard Schools are submitted:
A) in person by both parents/guardians; otherwise, the application is accompanied by a solemn declaration by the absent parent/guardian that they consent to their child’s participation in the procedure and by submission of a family status certificate, or
B) electronically, to the e-mail address of the school unit of interest, with all necessary supporting documents attached.
In this case, the protocol number is sent electronically. If the application is submitted electronically, solemn declarations by both parents/guardians must be attached through the procedure provided on the gov.gr website.

The parents/guardians of interested students are entitled to submit an application to one (1) Standard Gymnasium or Lyceum.
Participation in the skills test is permitted regardless of the student’s place of residence.

Conduct of the written test

Description
The test is conducted on the premises of the relevant school unit before the start of lessons and on a date announced on the school unit’s website following a decision of the relevant Scientific Supervisory Board or of the Director of the relevant school unit if such Board has not been constituted. Students are examined in the above fields within a single test lasting one hundred and fifty minutes (150 min) for Gymnasium and one hundred and eighty minutes (180 min) for Lyceum.

Candidate students, on the date of the skills test, must present an identity card or passport as well as the proof of submission of their application bearing the application code, for their full identification. Candidates arrive at the relevant school unit one hour before the start of the skills test.
