Description
The procedure concerns the issue of an authorisation by the person directly concerned to the person authorised to act on his/her behalf, in the course of handling cases and up to the range of powers given to him/her. In order for the authorisation to be accepted by each administrative authority, it should bear the authentic signature of the authorised and directly concerned person, as this ensures the declaration of his/her will.
The authorisation shall be issued either by visiting the citizen to any administrative authority or a Point of Single Contact (ΚΕΠ-ΕΚΕ) to certify his/her authenticity in the authorisation document he/she wishes, or by using the e-exousiodotisi electronic issuing service through the Single Digital Gateway (gov.gr) of the public administration.

In the case of an authorisation text drawn up by the person concerned in a natural and non-electronic way, the necessary procedure for attesting the authenticity of his signature by an administrative authority or by a JEP is required to demonstrate the original proof of the identity of the person concerned. For Greek citizens, means of proof of identity are: the police identity card or passport or driving licence or the booklet of a main insurer. This information is acceptable as identification documents even if their validity has expired, as the basic identity of the person remains unchanged.
