Description

The procedure concerns the issue of a birth certificate from the Public Register, where citizens retain their family register. The procedure does not concern the issue of a birth certificate for a minor child, which is normally registered in the applicants family. For the issue of the certificate, the person concerned may:

(a) address the municipality where he/she is registered,
(b) address the Points of Single Contact (ΚΕΠ-ΕΚΕ),
(c) visit www.gov.gr and issue the certificate electronically using Taxisnet codes.

The administrative authorities shall, at the request of the person concerned, issue certificates and attestations immediately; if the immediate granting of such certificates is not possible, they shall be sent by post within ten (10) days to the indicated address. This obligation does not apply if the person concerned declares in his/her application that he/she does not wish the documents to be sent by post and that he/she will receive them in person or through an authorised representative.
