Description

The procedure concerns the provision, upon request, of a special identity card of indefinite duration to Albanian nationals of Greek descent and to their children residing in Greece. The following persons are also entitled to obtain the document:

a. The spouses of foreign nationals of Greek descent, who are also foreign nationals, irrespective of nationality, as well as their foreign national minor children from a previous marriages who are under their parental responsibility.

b. Widowed foreign-national spouses of foreign nationals of Greek descent.

The agencies responsible for receiving the required supporting documents and issuing the above-mentioned documents are the competent Department for Foreign Nationals for persons residing in the jurisdiction of the Police Divisions of Attica and Thessaloniki, and the competent agencies (Anti-Crime Police Subdivisions across Greece, Anti-Crime Police Departments across Greece) handling foreign national-related matters at the seats of the Police Divisions of the Regional Police General Divisions for persons residing in the jurisdiction of those Police Divisions. Should there be a change to the residence address of an EDTO holder which was declared in accordance with indent (Aa) of point (a) of Article 9(2), the competent agency of his/her place or residence will be responsible for renewing or revoking the documents referred to in paragraph 1.

The document may also be issued to: a.
