The third-country national concerned has the right to appeal against the rejection decision. The application for treatment should be submitted within two (2) months of service of the decision. Applications for treatment are subject to a fee of EUR 50. The request for treatment is submitted to the department that issued the relevant decision, which decides on it within an exclusive period of thirty (30) days from the date of submission.

1 Administrative The applicant must hold a passport, valid or otherwise. However, this specific residence permit shall also be granted in cases where the applicant is demonstrably objectively unable to hold a passport, pending confirmation after submission of a substantiated application and the issuance of an opinion of the competent Migration Committee.

2 Administrative The applicant must hold a residence permit for citizens of third countries who are family members of persons of Greek origin from countries of the former USSR, or a valid residence card for themselves and, provided they have custody of any minor children, said children.

3 Of data provision The applicant must possess the required documents showing the reasons for termination of cohabitation (death certificate/court judgment annulling marriage/complaint of domestic violence or disruption of family relationship).

4 Time In case of termination of cohabitation due to death, the family members of the person of Greek origin who are applying for the residence permit must have resided in Greece for at least one (1) year before the death of the spouse.

5 Time In case of termination of cohabitation due to divorce or annulment of marriage, the marriage must have had a duration of at least three (3) years, of which one (1) year must have been spent in Greece.
