Description

This procedure concerns the awarding of a pension to authors or artists who have made exceptional contributions to the development of literature or the arts. More specifically, such pensions are awarded to:

• a. Writers, literary translators, philosophical and philological essayists, historical writers – historiographers and scriptwriters.
• b. Translators of theatrical works and playwrights.
• c. Visual artists, scenic artists, photographers, illustrators and cartoonists.
• d. Composers, conductors, musicians and operatic performers.
• e. Composers, lyricists and performers of Greek music.
• f. Directors and actors.
• g. Choreographers and dancers.
• h. Folk artists, especially Karaghiozis puppeteers, puppet makers and marionettists, mime artists and pantomime performers.

2 Administrative Exceptional contributions to the development of literature or the arts, determined via a comprehensively reasoned opinion by a nine-member Committee appointed by joint decision of the Ministers of the Economy and Culture.
