Description

The procedure concerns approval for natural or legal persons to lease marine recreational equipment. Approval to lease marine recreational equipment may also be granted to a natural person who does not fulfil some of the conditions laid down, provided that they appoint a person who fulfils all the qualifications as the person with sole responsibility for the exercise of the activity. The approval to lease shall be issued in the name of the natural person and shall indicate the details of the person with sole responsibility for the lease of the marine recreational equipment. Approval shall be granted by the competent Port Authority in whose territorial jurisdiction the activity is to be carried out, after an application is made by the person concerned. If the request being submitted involves operating a sea parachute, during a minimum of one of the 2 years’ experience referred to in the previous subparagraph the applicant must have worked towing sea parachutes as a worker in an undertaking which is legally licensed to lease marine recreational equipment which is towed from a high speed craft. A natural person who does not fulfil this condition shall designate a person with sole responsibility who meets this condition.
