Description
The procedure concerns the actions to be taken by the operator of the tourist accommodation if the accommodation includes swimming pools. The notification procedure has replaced the issuance of a swimming pool operation permit. Swimming pools within tourist accommodation shall operate lawfully after submission of said notification. The planned inspection of the lawful operation of the swimming pools shall be carried out on an ex-post basis by the competent authorities.

- water recirculation rate;
- filters (filtration area in m2, filtration capacity, number), recirculation pumps (type, horsepower, flow rate), discharge pumps (drainage capacity), spillways, depth markings;
- a description of the liquid waste disposal method;
- disinfection information (disinfection means, algae control, PH adjustment means, residual chlorine control);
- an inspection of water microbiological quality and lab tests;
- safety measures for swimmers, lifejackets, a list of emergency telephone numbers, signage, a sloped bottom.

The applicant must submit an application for notification of operation of a swimming pool via the open business electronic system (https://openbusiness.mindev.gov.gr/) to (a) the competent Regional Tourism Service for 1- to 3-star hotels and camping facilities and for youth hostels or for 4- to 5-star hotels and camping facilities with a capacity less than 300 beds or for non-principal tourist accommodation and (b) the Special Service for Promotion and Authorisation of Tourism Investments for 4- to 5-star hotels and camping facilities with a capacity greater than 300 beds.

Description
The notification is automatically communicated to the competent Services through the OPS-ADE system, and they may perform the inspections provided for in the Law.
Notes
In addition, the competent tourist office shall serve the notification without delay and at the latest within five business days to any other authority which it deems, at its discretion, must be informed, to perform any inspections provided for in the Law.
