Description

The procedure concerns the granting of multilateral ECMT authorisations and is addressed to road hauliers (transport companies) established in Greece and carrying out international road freight transport on behalf of third parties from/to countries outside the European Union.

Authorisations are granted following a notice issued by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport within the last quarter of each year inviting interested transport undertakings to submit applications. The authorisations (60 in total) are issued by the European Conference of Ministers of Transport (ECMT), which is an international intergovernmental organisation of which Greece is a member. The ECMT authorisations are accompanied by ECMT route books in which the international transport operations are recorded.

Title

The application shall contain the following information: Name of the applicant, name of the transport company, postal address with the corresponding postal code of the companys headquarters, contact telephone number, number of Public Use Vehicles meeting the specifications of the European emission standards as defined in the notice on the allocation of ECMT authorisations and their registration numbers.

Notes:

The application shall be signed by the natural person who is owner of the transport undertaking or by the transport operator as resulting from the licence to pursue a profession; in the case of legal persons, the application shall be signed by the transport operator or by the legal representative of the company, if that person is a different person.

        A right of objection to the decision to allocate ECMT licences shall be granted in accordance with the procedure described in the Notice on the annual allocation of ECMT authorisations.
