The person concerned may request, either from the administrative authority which issued the act, its revocation or amendment (application for cure), or from the authority which is in charge of the authority which issued the act (Attica and Thessaloniki Aliens Directorates, State Police Directorates), its annulment (hierarchical appeal). The administrative authority to which the application is submitted must notify the person concerned of its decision on the application within thirty (30) days at the latest, unless a different deadline is provided for by special provisions.

Union citizens who are going to reside in Greece for a period exceeding three months from the date of their arrival are obliged, after the expiry of the three-month period, to appear in person at the competent police authorities of their place of residence for registration.

The issue of a Certificate of Registration for Citizens of the Union presupposes that citizens of the Union, who reside in the Greek territory as employees or non-employees. According to Article 7 par. 3 of the Presidential Decree 106/2007, the status of an employee or a person exercising an independent economic activity is maintained for a citizen of the Union who is no longer an employee or no longer exercising an independent economic activity in the following cases: (a) if the person concerned is temporarily unable to work due to illness or accident; (b) if the person concerned is duly registered as involuntarily unemployed, having exercised a professional activity for more than one year, and is registered as a person seeking employment with the competent employment service, (c) if the person concerned has been duly registered as involuntarily unemployed after the expiry of a fixed-term employment contract of less than one year or after having been involuntarily unemployed during the first twelve months and has been registered with the competent employment service as a person seeking work. In this case, the status of worker is maintained for six months; and (d) if the person concerned is undergoing vocational training, the maintenance of the status of worker presupposes the existence of a link between the previous occupational activity and the training. This condition is not required in cases where the person concerned is involuntarily unemployed.
