            • 2 Gathering of data by the Diplomatic Academy and issuing of an Announcement with a comprehensive table of vacancies for traineeships

              Description The Diplomatic Academy gathers all the requests from the Diplomatic Missions and then compiles a table with the corresponding positions and requirements, in order to issue a Recommendation from the Diplomatic Missions to the Diplomatic Academy for the acceptance of a call for student applications (for each academic year), which is posted on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and forwarded to the competent bodies.

            • 3 Provision of information to students by universities

              Description Students should first contact the Traineeship Office or Registrar of their university, which will guide them through the Erasmus+ procedures (selection criteria, requirements, bureaucracy).

            • 4 Receipt of expressions of interest from students of all levels by the Diplomatic Missions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

              Description The students selected by the universities express their interest in a traineeship at the Diplomatic Missions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by sending an email stating that they have been approved by their university for the Erasmus+ programme and the period during which they wish to carry out their traineeship.

            • 5 Preparation and conduct of an interview/briefing by a competent official of the Mission

              Description Provided that the students meet the requirements, based on the MFA announcement, the competent Foreign Mission notifies them by e-mail and informs them of whether or not an interview/briefing will take place. Once the supporting documents are collected, the interview/briefing is conducted by the competent officer of the Diplomatic Mission, in order for the final selection to be made by the head of the department or the Diplomatic Mission.

              Notes It is at the absolute discretion of each Mission to decide whether or not to process an application and whether or not to interview the applicant.

            • 6 Recommendation from a Diplomatic Mission to the Diplomatic Academy to accept a student

              Description The Diplomatic Mission shall send to the Diplomatic Academy for approval the names, correspondence and supporting documents of the candidate students they wish to employ.

            • 7 Official acceptance of students by a Diplomatic Mission

              Description (a) The Diplomatic Mission formally notifies the student of his/her acceptance, and the student in question must complete, sign and send a declaration on honour (see notes below). (b) On receipt of the declaration on honour, the Diplomatic Mission completes and signs the Letter of Acceptance, which it returns to the student to be submitted to their university.

              Description Before the traineeship is carried out, the selected students send to the Diplomatic Mission the Before the Mobility section of the Learning Agreement, which is completed and signed by all three parties (Diplomatic Mission, student, university).
