Notes: In the case of an Integrated Tourism Development Area (POTA), the right to use a site to create a water aerodrome shall be ceded with the assent of the establishment and development body referred to in Article 29 of Law 2545/1997 (Government Gazette, Series I, Issue 254). In cases of complex tourist accommodation establishments, the right to use a site to create a water aerodrome shall be ceded with the assent of the development body referred to in Article 3(3.2) of Decision No 177/1.2.2012 of the Minister for Culture and Tourism (Government Gazette, Series II, Issue 319), as amended by Decision No 9347/15.4.2014 of the Minister for Tourism (Government Gazette, Series II, Issue 1013) and, in the case of tourist ports, with the assent of the management body referred to in Law 2160/1993 (Government Gazette, Series I, Issue 118), as currently in force. Description In order to be granted a licence to establish a water aerodrome, the interested party shall submit an application to the department of air transport of the Directorate for Transport Development, accompanied by a technical dossier containing the supporting documents referred to in Article 7(1) of Law 4663/2020, with the exception of points k), l) and m). The water aerodrome manual referred to in Article 7(1) shall be drawn up in accordance with Annex Ia and pre-approved by the competent department of the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority. The granting of a licence to establish a water airport requires a valid Environmental Terms Approval Decision (AEPO) for water aerodromes belonging to category A projects and subjection to Standard Environmental Commitments (PPD) for water aerodromes belonging to category B projects, in accordance with Article 9(A3) of the aforesaid Law.

Description The Department of Air Transport shall, within ten (10) working days, forward the technical file of a water airport to the services responsible for issuing an opinion. The competent departments to which the water aerodrome technical dossier is forwarded shall issue an opinion on the supporting documents to the interested party, notified to the Department of Air Transport and the other competent departments, within thirty (30) working days of the date the technical dossier is received.

Additionally, the interested party shall resubmit the updated information for environmental permitting to the competent environmental department.

Description In cases of water aerodromes at a port, a water aerodrome establishment licence shall be issued by virtue of a Joint Ministerial Decision issued by the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, and the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy. In cases of water aerodromes on a lake, a water aerodrome establishment licence shall be issued exclusively by virtue of a decision of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport. In cases of water aerodromes in integrated tourism development areas (POTA), complex tourist accommodation establishment and tourist ports, the joint decision of the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, and the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy shall also be signed by the Minister of Tourism.
