Description

The procedure concerns the approval of establishment of laboratories for meat slicing and for standardization, as well as for meat preparations from ungulates and poultry. The established meat slicing and standardization laboratories are facilities used for meat slicing, boning, meat processing, meat packaging, minced meat production, production of meat products and their freezing. It is noted that another code is required for ungulate meat and another for poultry.

Notes In case the information and data are incomplete, a relevant letter is prepared and sent to the applicant with a deadline of 10 days, in order to submit the pending documents. In case the deadline expires without action on behalf of the applicant, then the application is rejected and the applicant is informed accordingly.

Description When the file is complete, an on-site inspection is conducted from a special Task Force composed within the Regional Department of Rural Economy and Veterinary (DAOK) and a recommendation is made to the Head of DAOK: - If the recommendation is negative, then the Head of DAOK rejects the application and informs, without any delay, the applicant about the reasons of the rejection. - If the recommendation is positive, then it is forwarded to the Directorate of Food Safety of EFET, within 30 days from the date of initial request submission.

Description The Directorate of Food Safety of EFET takes all necessary internal actions for granting approval and if it is necessary a secondary on-site control is conducted to the establishment. Finally, the President of EFET signs the decision for one of the following: · to grant the facility/establishment approval number · to grant a conditional approval · to reject the approval. The above decision is notified to the Regional Directorates of EFET, DAOK and the applicant.

Notes 1. Conditional approval is granted if the infrastructure and equipment requirements are met in accordance with EC 854/2004 (Article 3) and Article 7 of RA 1288/2017, however there are other requirements of national and EU legislation which are not met. In this case, in a new on-site visit within three months, it is ascertained whether all the requirement for granting approval are met. 2. After the approval of establishment, follows another process for notifying the business operation through notifybyssiness.gr.
