            • 4 Urban planning For private veterinary practices for small animals: provided their establishment is not prohibited by another provision, they may be established in an independent or continuous independent building or a building complex or on the ground floor or basement of a block of flats, which must meet the sanitary conditions in force and have the obligatory spaces described in par.2 of art.1 of PD 463/1978. For private veterinary practices for large animals: they may be established far from city centres, churches, venues for social or cultural events and group gatherings in general, in an independent building that must fully meet the required sanitary conditions and have the obligatory spaces described in par.2 of art.1 of PD 463/1978.

            • 5 Labour Private veterinary practices for small and large animals shall be staffed with at least one veterinarian, according to the provisions of par.2 of art.10 of Law 604/1977, who may also be the owner of the practice. The veterinarian shall comply with the obligations set out in art.5 of PD 463/1978.

            • 6 Technical Private veterinary practices for small and large animals shall be equipped with the necessary instruments, tools and utensils.

            • 7 Health Operating private practices shall also keep the following books, duly validated and numbered:
              • a) Inspection book.
              • b) Register of diagnosed communicable diseases to be mandatorily declared.
              • c) Book of preventive vaccinations against communicable diseases that must be declared mandatorily, filled-in by type of vaccination.
              • d) Book of disinfections performed.

            • 9 Conditions for non-commission of criminal offenses The approval for the operation of a veterinary practice cannot be granted to those who have been convicted of criminal offences, resulting in their being disqualified from certain positions and appointments or in a ban for practicing a profession. The same applies to those convicted of criminal offence according to the provisions of Law 4139/2013 (A 74). The above individuals cannot be appointed administrative or scientific managers of a veterinary practice (article 7 of Law 604/1977, as amended by article 2 of Law 4711/2020).
