Notes

A non-resident voter is defined as a voter who expresses interest in voting in his/her place of residence, the combinations of the electoral district, in whose electoral lists he/she is registered, e.g. a resident of the Municipality of Kavala who resides in the Municipality of Thessaloniki and wishes to vote in the Municipality of Thessaloniki for the candidates of the electoral district of Kavala.

Non-resident citizens who wish to vote at their place of residence can submit an online application / solemn declaration. On the basis of the applications submitted, special electoral rolls are drawn up and votes are cast: - For the European elections, at the ordinary polling stations of their place of residence.

- In national or simultaneous elections (national and European elections on the same day) at special polling stations for heterodemocrats in the capital cities of the prefectures (except for the prefectures of Attica and Thessaloniki, except for Kythera and Antikythera).

Applications can also be made to the municipalities concerned and to the Citizen Service Centre (K.E.P.). For the submission of the application to the municipalities concerned, voters may address only to the municipality in question, while in the K.E.P. all voters can be addressed regardless of their municipality.

Description At this point, the registration in the electoral rolls of the citizen - voter is searched with the help of some identification data. The search is done either by the Special Electoral Number, or by surname, first name (at least 2 characters), fathers name (at least 2 characters), year of birth.

Notes The procedure concerns applications for voters submitted to municipalities or to KEPs. Upon opening the page for registering a new Application for Registration in the lists of non-residents, the application requires the user to enter the voters VAT number.

3 Search for a voter without a VAT Number

Description If the application concerns a voter without a VAT number, then the user selects the corresponding declaration in the Application (voter without VAT number). In this case, the user has the option to freely select the voter he/she serves in the Basic Electoral List, provided that he/she is under 30 years old, as required by law.

Notes The search is done : Either by filling in the Special Electoral Number (SEN) and the Surname (in full but only the first one if there is more than one). Or by filling in the Surname (in full but only if there is more than one) the First Name and the Fathers Name (the first two letters are sufficient) and the year of birth. And in the case of the Surname, if there are two Surnames, the first name is used in the search. The mothers name may be left blank in the search. For the special cases of voters of unknown father, the search should be done by checking the " Without father " box.

6 Submission of an application

Description Once the competent official has completed the application form, i.e. the required fields and the required supporting documents, he/she can proceed to the final submission of the application. A prerequisite for a voters application to be submitted by a municipal employee is that the application is printed and the voter signs it in the space provided at the end of the application.

7 Print Application

Description A preview of the application is given by the non-resident and the application can be printed. After successful submission and initial filing, the application will be reprinted. This time the printout includes the Protocol Number and Date. This printed copy shall be delivered to the voter.

Notes The application submitted will then be examined by the relevant auditors of the Municipality; if the conditions of the law are met, the elector will be registered with the Special Lists of Non-registered Citizens.
