Description

The procedure concerns the electronic application for sickness benefit and is addressed to people insured with e-EFKA for the period they were absent from work due to illness in order to obtain the relevant allowance. The online sickness benefit service covers absence from work due to a common illness and not due to an accident. In the context of this operation, in the first phase, employees insured with the former IKE-ETAM have been included and their employers, with the exception of skilled construction workers.

Notes

The physician, through the electronic prescription system, certifies the inability of the insured person to work. The employed person, within eight months from the date of notification of the sick leave, shall submit an application to the website of the insurance agency. The employer shall then enter the respective electronic service using the e-EFKA codes to accept the application.

1 Insurance Depending on the work/profession of the insured person, the conditions for granting: For the former IKA-ETAM: A prerequisite is to have completed 120 days of insurance in the previous year or in the last 15 months, without counting the last three months (IKA-ETAM insured persons guide)
