              Description The issuance of a decision permitting the entry of a foreigner into the country, despite the existence of a prohibition reason, provided that this is required for important reasons of public interest or force majeure or to facilitate the movement of a Greek ship, which cannot be served in any other way (article 4 paragraph 4 of Law 4251/2014, A80). With the said Joint Ministerial Decision, the competence is transferred to the Director of the Border Protection Directorate/Hellenic Police Headquarters.

              Description The Minister of Public Order and Citizen Protection may, by decision, allow the entry of a citizen of a third country at controlled border crossings and temporary crossing points, despite the existence of a prohibitory reason under the previous paragraph, in case this is required for important reasons of public interest or force majeure or in order to facilitate the movement of a Greek ship, which cannot be served in any other way.
