|process_description=The procedure for the automatic recognition of qualifications concerns the legal and administrative recognition of specialised medicine qualifications acquired in the EU or in the USA, so that the holder of the specialised qualifications can practise medicine in Greece without the need for further examinations or additional training.

|process_remarks=Foreign-language qualifications must bear the apostille stamp from the country in which they were acquired, be translated by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs or by a sworn translator of the Ionian University or by a lawyer in Greek territory or by an official translator at the Greek consulate in the country of origin or by the relevant service in the country of origin that corresponds with the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ translation service.

Specialised medicine qualifications obtained in the USA and automatically recognised by this administrative procedure are valid only in Greece and are not subject to Directive 2005/36/EC, as in force at any given time.
