Description

The procedure concerns the transfer of ownership of private use passenger vehicles and is available to citizens and legal persons.

Execution of the procedure through EPSP gov.gr requires :

1. The seller and the buyer must be natural persons.

2. To transfer 100% of the ownership of the IX vehicle (passenger car or two-wheeler), the vehicle must be in motion and there must be no traffic tax debts.

3. There must be a valid Technical Inspection Certificate (ΚΤΕΟ) or the vehicle must not yet be subject to a Technical Inspection Certificate (for vehicles less than four (4) years old).

4. There is no retention of ownership of the vehicle or if there is, it must be more than 7 years old from the date of issue of the registration licence to the current holder.

5. There is no observation codes (003, 004, 005, 008, 023, 024, 030, 037, 039, 048, 064, 080, 084, 090, 092, 093, 097, 128, 133, 134, 135, 176, 178, 179, 182) listed on the registration certificate.

Description The person concerned goes to the KEP or the Transport and Communications Directorate of the Regional Unit where the transfer application will be submitted, where the amount of the transfer fee and the vehicle license fee is determined, as well as the number of the special account for the deposit of the total amount (according to the table of numbers of the special accounts for the deposit of the total amount per Region, which has been brought to the attention of the KEPs by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport through the Ministry of Administrative Reconstruction). The person concerned then deposits the licence fee and the transfer fee for the vehicle with the bank in which the special account has been set up by the competent Region. The supporting documents shall be submitted to the competent Transport Directorate and Communications of the Regional Unit for the transfer of the vehicle and the issuance of the new registration certificate in the name of the buyer(s), either by themselves (seller - buyer) or by duly authorised persons or proxies. Where the contracting parties are legal persons, the statutory and legal representation documents must be provided at the same time. The registration certificate must be signed in the appropriate space by both the seller of the vehicle and the buyer of the vehicle with their full names. The financial charges shall be paid before the transfer is issued to the tax office.

Description The transfer procedure is completed only after the legally required documents have been checked by the competent employee of the relevant Transport and Communications Service of the Regional Unit and the Transport and Communications Service has issued a new registration permit in the name of the new owner or the new holder and not by submitting the application to the KEP.
