Description

The procedure relates to the recognition of foreign first (1st) cycle (undergraduate degree) academic qualifications. Applicants may submit their applications online through the platform: https://e-doatap.doatap.gr. After logging in to the platform, applicants may submit a relevant application with the necessary supporting documents in each case and learn about the progress and history of their applications. The undergraduate degree recognition procedure is addressed to holders of foreign first cycle (undergraduate degree) academic qualifications.The application relates to the recognition of the academic equivalence of first cycle (undergraduate degree) academic qualifications awarded by Institutions abroad to degrees/diplomas awarded by Greek Universities. As long as the degrees/diplomas awarded by Greek Universities concern five-year (5-year) duration of studies, at level 7 of the National and European Qualifications Framework, a second (2nd) cycle (postgraduate) degree may be co-submitted.

CLARIFICATIONS:

1. The start of the recognition procedure requires electronic submission of the required supporting documents, including the supporting documents sent by universities to DOATAP for comparison, in accordance with the provisions of the section ‘What you will need’ of this procedure and in the file titled ‘Supporting documents for the 1st cycle of studies’, posted on the DOATAP website, https://e-doatap.doatap.gr/, under the ‘Forms and instructions’ section. 2. The competent officers at DOATAP may request additional information and invite the applicant to provide further explanations. 3. A certificate of proficiency in the language of the curriculum, obtained before the applicant enrolled for the programme may be requested at any stage of the processing of the application.

4.In order for applications for the recognition of degrees in Medicine or Dentistry awarded by Institutions of EU member states before their accession to the EU or by non-EU countries to be completed, applicants will be required to sit examinations in a series of courses set out by DOATAP.

Τhe application serves as a solemn declaration under Article 8 of Law 1599/1986 (Government Gazette, Series I, No 75) for the information stated therein and the supporting documents submitted along with that application. Any inaccuracy in the information stated in the application incurs the stipulated criminal and administrative sanctions. Foreign citizens who do not have a tax ID number must have their identity verified by DOATAP and will then be sent their portal access credentials (user name and password).

              Description The Evaluator assesses the existence of substantial differences within fifteen (15) days and submits to the President a written recommendation for the academic equivalence of the title or the submission of the applicant, with a reasoned decision, to specific compensatory measures. Compensatory measures include a written test or a traineeship or a dissertation or a combination thereof.

              Notes 1. If no proposal is submitted by the Evaluator within this deadline, the President assigns the file to another evaluator and the step is repeated. If during the process of assigning the file to Evaluators at least one (1) proposal is not submitted to the President, the Head of the Academic Recognition Division submits a written proposal to the Board of Directors and the Board of Directors takes a decision on the academic recognition of the title or the submission of the applicant to specific compensatory measures. 2. The evaluator may decide, and recommend in this regard, the non-recognition of academic equivalence due to the lack of relevance of the curriculum of the degree in question with a program of study in Greece.
