NOTIFICATION

1. It is the method by which the operator of the economic activity notifies the competent supervisory authorities of its establishment or commencement of operation of its activity and of any changes to its economic activity.

2. It is carried out by the natural person who intends to establish or operate its activity in a specific location and it is a prerequisite for its establishment or operation. The activity is established or the operation commences immediately upon the submission of the notification, without the need of a relevant authorisation.

The notification shall be submitted electronically via the OPS-ADE information system or via www.notifybusiness.gov.gr; the notification will be assigned a unique number and a time stamp. The file bearing the unique number serves as proof of submission of the notification.

Prior to the submission of the notification, the operator of the activity is obliged to have collected and keep at the place of its activity, in accordance with the institutional framework, the administrative and building documentation, which must be available for any audit.

The entire procedure concerns electronic submission of the notification. Once the notification has been submitted, the operator may start operating its activity. Upon the submission of the notification of the operation of the activity, the audit procedures carried out by the National Organisation for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance, as the competent authority overseeing compliance with the requirements set out herein, shall commence; if the requirements are not complied with, the set penalties will be imposed.

Notes: For the submission of the initial notification of operation per activity (language school, language centre), a fee must be paid beforehand, per establishment, in accordance with Section 11 and Section 281(6) of Law 4442/2016 and Section 9 of Joint Ministerial Decision No 14715/GG4/2022 (Government Gazette, Series I, No 609), which is set at five hundred (500) euro. IMPORTANT! Of the fee, 80%, i.e. EUR 400, must be paid electronically via the ‘e payments’ application via the website of the National Organisation for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance (ΕΟΠΠΕΠ), and the remaining 20%, i.e. EUR 100, in favour of the State budget, must be deposited in the Detailed Revenue Account (ALE) 1450113002 ‘20% of the fees for the pursuit of an economic activity subject to notification and/or approval’. Since the possibility for electronic procurement of the fee from the State budget has not been activated, the procurement of this fee will be carried out by the local tax offices (DOY), stating the code ALE 1450113002.
