The process involves the issue of a power of attorney by the person directly concerned to the person he authorises to act on his behalf, for processing his affairs and to the extent of the powers granted to him. In order for the power of attorney to be accepted by every administrative authority, it should bear the authenticated signature of the authorising person and the person directly concerned, thereby ensuring that his will is clearly stated. The power of attorney can be obtained either by the citizen visiting any administrative authority or Citizens’ Service Centre (KEP) to certify the authenticity of his signature on the text of the power of attorney, or by using the electronic authorisation issuance service (e-exousiodotisi) via the public administration’s Single Digital Portal (gov.gr).
