They must be registered with their distinction in the special table of the General Secretariat of Sport.

Applicants must hold a high school diploma or equivalent secondary school diploma that allows them to participate in the current selection procedures for admission to Higher Education.

Time
Athletes who have applied for admission to higher education may exercise their right to the same distinction in the two academic years immediately following the one in which they first applied for admission. The entitlement is reinstated by a subsequent win in a different competition.

Candidate athletes should have participated in the Panhellenic Examinations, have submitted a computerised form as candidates for admission in the general order in Higher Education and have not been admitted in the general order in a Department, or an introductory direction of a Department of the Universities and Higher School of Pedagogical and Technological Education (ASPAITE) and Higher Schools of Tourism Education (A.S.T.E.), including School/Department of Physical Education and Sports Science(SEFAA-TEFAA) of their first preference on the computerised form.

a. Especially for the years 2019 and 2021, the first subparagraph of par. 8 of article 34 of Law 2725/1999 applies to athletes who win 1st to 8th victory in a world championship, or 1st to 6th victory in a European championship mens women, young men young women, adolescents young women, in sports or sporting events for which due to the implementation of measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 not held the above events in 2020. The present applies in cases, where the athlete or the athlete would have competed in the year 2020 and it was not possible to complete the competition process due to the pandemic of the coronavirus COVID-19 in the same age category as the one in which he won a victory in the years 2019 or 2021. b For athletes who won 1st to 8th victory in a world championship, or 1st to 6th victory in European Championship men - women, young men - young women, adolescents - young women, in sports or sports events, which were held in the year 2020, without completing the above events, due to the implementation of measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, c. Especially for the year 2022, the first subparagraph of par. 8 of Article 34 of Law 2725/99, applies to athletes who win 1st to 8th victory in a world championship,or 1st to 6th victory in European Championship men - women, young men - young men - young women, juniors - young women, in sports or sports events, which were held within the year 2020, without completing the above events, due to the implementation of measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19, c. Especially for the year 2022, the first subparagraph of paragraph. 8 of art.34 of Law 2725/99, applies to athletes who win 1st to 8th victory in a world championship, or 1st to 6th victory in a European championship mens women, young men young women, adolescents young women, in sports or sporting events for which due to the implementation of measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus not held the above events within the year 2021. This applies in cases where the athlete would have competed in the year 2021 and it was not possible to complete the competition process due to the pandemic of the COVID-19 coronavirus in the same age category as the one in which he or she won in the year 2022.
