This procedure concerns the granting of a basic survivor’s pension to the spouse and/or children of permanent employees of legal entities governed by public law who were insured with the former IKA and chose to receive a pension under the provisions of the state (Law 3163/1955), and to the spouse and/or children of permanent employees of legal entities governed by public law who were insured by the state (the former General Accounting Office of the State).

Spouses and/or children of deceased permanent employees of legal entities governed by public law (EXCEPT FOR THOSE BELONGING TO THE MINISTRY OF LABOUR) who were insured with the former General Accounting Office of the State as the social security entity must submit their applications exclusively to the department where the deceased was employed. This application will be forwarded, together with the necessary supporting documents and the deceased’s Individual Employment Status Report (DAYK), which the department must also forward in electronic form (e-DAYK) to the Second Directorate of Public Sector Pensions and Lump-Sum Payments, of the General Directorate of Public Sector Pensions of the Electronic National Social Security Entity (e-EFKA).

The spouses and/or children of deceased permanent employees of legal entities governed by public law belonging to the Ministry of Labour who were insured with the former General Accounting Office of the State must submit their applications directly to the Second Directorate of Public Sector Pensions and Lump-Sum Payments, of the General Directorate of Public Sector Pensions of the e-EFKA.

The spouses and/or children of deceased permanent employees of legal entities governed by public law who were insured with the former IKA who wish to receive a pension as per the general provisions, should submit their applications to the Local Directorates of the former IKA.

Persons entitled to a survivor’s pension due to the death of an employee of a legal entity governed by public law who was insured with the former IKA must complete and submit the relevant form electronically, where it will be assigned a reference number. The form must then be printed out and submitted in printed form to the protocol office of the relevant department.             • 1 Insurance Beneficiaries are entitled to the relevant pension if, at the time of death, the deceased had at least five years of pensionable service (the minimum requirement for pension in their own right or due to disability) as this service is further specified by the entity granting the pension.
