Application for the issue of a type-approval notification card (TANC) for category M1 and N1 vehicles.
Notes:
The dossier must be submitted to the Technical Service (TS), which will then forward it to the Vehicles Technology Directorate (VTD). A TS means those under Category B as per Regulation (EU) 2018/858, which have the proper accreditation and designation in force by (VTD – D34), for the purpose of issuing TANCs for vehicles belonging to categories M1 & N1. In the event of low TS availability, procedure No 185170 of the National Register of Procedures shall apply: EU type-approval notification card as per Regulation (EU) 858/2018 (Vehicle) categories M2, M3, N2, N3, O1, O2, O3, O4.

This is an Excel spreadsheet containing the required combinations of variants and versions, in digital format, which must comply with the template for its category, as published on the website of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transportation.
More specifically, templates in Excel spreadsheet form can be found at the link above, grouped by vehicle category as follows: (a) Passenger vehicles (b) Lorries (c) Buses (d) Trailers/Semi-trailers with the numbering of the columns to be filled out and a description of the required technical characteristic as well as a detailed elaboration, in the form of a drop-down comment, with instructions and registration restrictions.
When applying for a notification card, and depending on vehicle category, the applicant must enter the values for the required technical specifications on as many lines of the spreadsheet as there are variants/versions to be included in the notification card; each line corresponds to a variant/version of the vehicle and each column to a technical characteristic.
As this Excel spreadsheet will be used to enter the technical specifications for each variant/version of the vehicle into the Technical Register of Vehicles (TRV) system, the file is subject to the following technical restrictions imposed by that system: (*): the file should be saved as: ‘EXCEL 97-2003 workbook’. (**): the file must contain only one item – the active Spreadsheet. (***): the file must not have headers/footers. (****): data entries should not include functions and macros. (*****): fields that are not to be filled out should, as a rule, be left completely blank, without any periods or dashes; this may be ensured by using the Delete key.

Οther supporting documents required for audit (individual certificates, attestations, end-of-series decisions). The encoding of the numbering of technical characteristics in the EXCEL spreadsheet corresponds to that of the uniform encoding system used in type-approvals, from where they are extracted.
If, however: (A): some of the required technical characteristics are not included in the type-approval and/or: (B): one or more of the vehicle’s technical characteristics conflict with specific ‘Registration restrictions’: the applicant must submit the necessary documentation confirming the correctness of the registered value of the specific technical characteristic.
This additional documentation may be, in order of priority: (i) Individual type-approvals on which the notified type-approval is based. (ii) Manufacturer certificate. (iii) Manufacturer’s manuals and vehicle specifications. (iv) A statement from the Greek dealership, where a specific technical characteristic is freely selectable from among approved alternatives within the scope of a specific notified variant/version of the vehicle. (C): this is a notification card for a specific vehicle (chassis number) that is not intended for general use; the applicant must also submit the Certificate of Conformity (CoC) for said vehicle.

Description
The Technical Service checks the submitted supporting documents, corrects them and/or requests additional supporting documents where necessary, in accordance with applicable European and national legislation. The Technical Service confirms, via the Pre TRV application, that the Excel spreadsheet can be uploaded to the Technical Register of Vehicles (TRV) without any comments or errors, and prints the relevant receipt from the application. If any issue or problem arises (such as, indicatively, any errors in type-approvals, inability to issue the TANC, etc.), the TS may, at its discretion, contact the VTD for relevant clarifications or instructions.
