Description
The baptism is recorded in the margin of the birth certificate within ninety days from the date it took place, upon a declaration by the religious official who performed or assisted in the ceremony.
After that period, the declaration shall be accepted by the registrant, entails, however, the penalties provided for in Article 49 of the same law.

The Certificate of Birth is an extract and does not state the religion for the purpose of protecting sensitive personal data.
The document has an advanced electronic seal and time stamp, code number and QR code for verification. It can be distributed both electronically and in paper form. In its printed form it does not need to be validated and is confirmed by the gov.gr document validity application.
