Evidence of possession of sufficient resources.

Submission by: Submitted by the applicant (in person)

Notes: For students the proof of adequate resources is made either by declaration (solemn declaration under Article 8 of Law 1599/1986 or solemn declaration issued electronically through gov.gr) to the competent police authority or equivalent evidence of their choice, that they have sufficient resources for themselves and the members of their family. The decaration, for the proof of possession by the person concerned of sufficient financial resources, does not require this amount to be reported. In paragraph 3 of Article 8 of the PD 106/2007, it is laid down that, for the purposes of calculating the possession of sufficient resources by the applicant/debtor, account is taken, on the one hand, of the personal situation of the person concerned, on the other hand, of the minimum pension awarded to Greece (according to Law 4387/2016). It is noted that, according to par. 4 of Article 8 of Directive 2004/38/EC, Greece cannot determine the amount of resources it considers as "sufficient resources", but must take into account the personal situation of the applicant. Moreover, it is not possible to establish a specific means of proof (e.g. monthly income) to the exclusion of other means which would be equally appropriate to prove that the applicant has sufficient resources. Indicative examples of means of proof of sufficient resources may be documents proving the receipt of income from legal sources (e.g. pension, salary), deposits in financial institutions, either in Greece or abroad, which nevertheless allow transactions in the Greek territory, etc.
