Description

The procedure concerns the application for the exemption of a migrant worker and the issuing of a Portable Document A1 by e ΕΦΚΑ, which certifies the social security legislation in force applicable to the holder of the document and confirms that they have no obligation to pay contributions in another EU Member State. This procedure is addressed to undertakings and natural persons (salaried employees and self-employed persons). Please note that for issuing a Portable Document A1 for the first time, and for a period of up to 24 months, the competent body for issuing it is e ΕΦΚΑ. The Ministry of Labour and Social Security processes applications for which an A1 has already been issued for a period of up to 24 months and the worker wishes to continue their exemption, and requests a Portable Document A1 for a period of more than 24 months for the first time.
